Follow me on Instagram at sharpharmade! Friday December 30, 2016 was Bacon Day. "There’s nothing in this world that doesn’t taste better with Bacon. Whether it’s chocolate covered bacon from the confectioners shop, bacon cheeseburgers, bacon wrapped tater tots, or even bacon covered chapstick, you can’t deny that it’s a delicious tasty treat that’s truly gotten it’s fingers in everywhere. Bacon has been a popular method of preserving meat and adding a delicious flavor to it by soaking it in a specialized brine. This is easily one of the tastiest holidays you can celebrate! The best way of celebrating this dedication to swine delicacies is by indulging in the delicious treats that come from our four hooved friends. You can start by going to an all you can eat breakfast place that has bacon on the menu, trust us, they exist! Then you can head on out to your favorite lunch stop and get your favorite bacony treat, we personally prefer cheeseburgers with extra bacon! . But there’s more to bacon than just meat on meat, bacon is an open-minded kind of food, and has already been known for being part of any of the three major meals of the day. But in recent days it has expanded even more! There’s bacon chocolate milkshakes, and bacon flavored lubes, bacon flavored chewing gum, and a million other variations! . To really get into the spirit of the holiday, you can get one of the hundreds of themed pieces of clothing there are. There’s bacon underwear and bras, pants and pajamas, hats and sunglasses, if you can wear it, it’s been made with bacon patterns applied to it! So get out there and celebrate Bacon Day, and have a delicious new year!" ^sPm - #sharpharmade Fr 'Days of the Year' . #bacon #baconday #fit #follow #like #celebrate #enjoy #wp #fb #twitter #tweet #buffer #tagsforlike #share #pop #blog #linkinbio #lpt #ig #insta #awesome #tasty #foodporn #food #delicious #love #sherylunderwood #favorite . @instagram @sharpharmade

Follow me on Instagram at sharpharmade! Wednesday December 28, 2016 is Card Playing Day. "The holiday season has come and gone, and the end of the year is in sight. You know what you need to do now? That’s right, you need to sit back and play out a few rounds of solitaire, or maybe get the family together for a night of Texas Hold’em, Slap Jack, or War. Whatever your pleasure, Card Playing Day is a chance to wind down from all the kerfluffle of the season by engaging in a card game or three. Playing cards have always been the last bastion of entertainment in inclement weather, and thus were a favorite of the winter holidays. After all, before the invention of television and electricity, what was one to do when you’d heard all of Uncle Joe’s story, and couldn’t possibly bring yourself to lay your eyes on another dog-eared novel? . That’s right, you play cards! There are numerous games that exist in the world, hundreds from every culture imaginable. Some games are unique to a particular region, or at least distinct to it (Like Baccarat) or can be found in variations all over the world while clearly being recognizable (like poker). Others still involve the use of playing boards as a utility in keeping track of points, such as cribbage. This day is an opportunity and excuse to return to this age old form of entertainment, and to spend a little time alone, or connecting with your family. If you’re really looking to make an experience out of Card Playing Day, you may consider trying to learn a variation of a game you already know, or even learning a completely new card game altogether. There’s countless games out there you can learn, and if the game you know has lost its appeal, it’s time to learn another one! We also suggest getting out there and investing in a new deck of cards, there are limitless variations on style and theme, and a new deck can make a new game even more fun!" ^sPm - #sharpharmade Fr 'Days of the Year' . #card #cardplaying #cardplayingday #cardplayer #fit #follow #like #celebrate #enjoy #wp #fb #twitter #tweet #buffer #tagsforlike #share #pop #blog #linkinbio #lpt #ig #insta #awesome #play #familytime #relax . @instagram @sharpharmade

Follow me on Instagram at sharpharmade! Tuesday December 27, 2016 is Make Cut-out Snowflakes Day. "It was a favorite activity in our earliest school years, and many families would share it as a familiar project around the holidays. Surely it ended up with numerous small flakes of paper on the ground as thick as the snow outside, but it was accompanied by a warmth of time spent creatively, and the unique designs that came out of everyone’s individual efforts. Make Cut-Out Snowflakes Day encourages us to set out to do it again, and create snowflakes that will persist long after the last crystal of ice has melted into water as the seasons change. There’s no denying that the unique design of each snowflake is beautiful, and the ability to create either a single piece, or to intricately cut a piece of paper that has been folded over multiple times to create a string of elaborately cut snowflakes means you have near infinite variations you can end with. Make Cut-Out Snowflakes Day encourages you to pick up this art again, and create your own unique and special snowflake. It all starts with learning the basics of folding paper to create a snowflake, available through multiple websites and videos throughout the web. From there it’s a simple matter of being creative with your scissors and seeing what results. With practice you will be able to make truly stunning designs that will serve to enhance your holiday spirit. Don’t think it ends there, with the encroaching Valentine’s Day on the horizon, you can take this art to the next level and create intricate lace-like heart streamers to beautify your home and add a little romance to the holiday. Then it’s on to bunnies and eggs for Easter! Make Cut-Out Snowflakes Day encourages you to learn the art again, and then carry it throughout the year!" ^sPm - #sharpharmade Fr 'Days of the Year' . #makecutoutsnowflakesday #snowflake #snowflakeday #cutout #make #fit #follow #like #celebrate #enjoy #wp #fb #twitter #tweet #buffer #tagsforlike #share #pop #blog #linkinbio #lpt #ig #insta #awesome #flake #snow #snowdiamonds #makecut . @instagram @sharpharmade

Follow me on Instagram at sharpharmade! . Saturday December 24, 2016 is Eggnog Day. "We all know that famous holiday drink, the one sold in stores only during the length of November through December. It’s eggnog! Whether we buy it in stores so the whole family can have a glass or make our own, eggnog has always been a staple drink for the Christmas season. Eggnog is historically also known as milk punch or egg milk punch when it is mixed with an alcoholic beverage. Celebrating this day is quite easy and enjoyable. All we have to do is buy or make our own eggnog, and enjoy the eggnog with our family and friends. After the children have gone to bed, we can make an alcoholic version of the beverage to share around with the adult family and friends. If you’ve never made Eggnog before, have a bash at the recipe below. Eggnog {Cooked} Ingredients: 3 1/2 cups milk 1 1/2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon 1 cinnamon stick generous pinch of ground clove 6 egg yolks 3/4 cup granulated sugar 1 cup rum (optional) 1 cup heavy cream 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg Directions: Over low heat combine milk, vanilla extract, cinnamon, cinnamon stick and clove in a medium saucepan. Rise the heat slowly and bring to a slow boil (it takes about 7 minutes to bring to a boil.) Once the milk mixture starts to boil take off heat and let the cinnamon stick seep for 2 minutes, remove cinnamon stick. In the bowl of a standing mixer combine egg yolks and sugar. Whisk together until pale and fluffy. With the mixer on low, pour the hot milk mixture into the egg yolks (tempering the yolks) whisk until well incorporated. Pour the mixture back into the saucepan and heat on med/med-low for about 5 minutes, continually stirring, until thickened and creamy. Do not let it boil, or the nog will curdle. Stir in the rum, heavy cream and nutmeg and refrigerate over night. When ready to serve garnish with a sprinkle of cinnamon." ^sPm - #sharpharmade Fr 'Days of the Year' . #eggnog #eggnogday #egg #fit #follow #like #celebrate #enjoy #wp #fb #twitter #tweet #buffer #tagsforlike #share #pop #blog #linkinbio #lpt #ig #insta #awesome #drink #holiday #seasonal . @instagram @sharpharmade

"It’s worth laying on a spread to celebrate Date Nut Bread Day – but the question is whether to choose butter or cream cheese! Published recipes for the bread “date” back to the 1920s, but fruited breads were also known in earlier centuries and many different parts of the world. Celebrate the date by baking some bread and serving it up to friends or relations for breakfast or afternoon tea. Although the bread tastes slightly sweet, it goes well with a cheese filling for a different taste sensation. Why not try it for yourself? Date Nut Bread 1 ½ cups pitted dates, coarsely chopped ¾ cup boiling/ very hot water 1 ¼ cups all-purpose flour 2 tsp. baking powder ½ tsp. salt ¾ tsp. freshly ground nutmeg (or cinnamon) ¼ cup unsalted butter, room temperature ½ cup light brown sugar ¼ cup sugar 1 large egg 1 tsp. pure vanilla extract 1 cup chopped pecans (or walnuts), plus 5-8 pecan halves reserved Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease (or spray with a non-stick vegetable spray) a 9 x 5 x 3 inch loaf pan. Place dates in a medium-sized bowl, or large liquid measuring cup, boiling water. Let stand at least 20 minutes. Drain before use. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt and nutmeg; set aside. In a large bowl of an electric mixer (or with a hand mixer), cream butter and sugars. Add egg, then vanilla. Gradually incorporate the flour mixture and blend until just combined. Stir in drained dates and nuts. Transfer the batter into the prepared pan. Top with reserved nuts in a preferred pattern. Bake 45 to 50 minutes, until an inserted toothpick in the center comes out almost clean. Place on a wire rack to cool for 10 minutes, then remove the bread from the pan and cool completely. Makes one 9 x 5 x 3 inch loaf." ^sPm - #sharpharmade Fr 'Days of the Year' . #datenutbreadday #datenutbread #date #nut #bread #fit #follow #like #celebrate #enjoy #wp #fb #twitter #tweet #buffer #tagsforlike #share #pop #blog #linkinbio #lpt #ig #insta #awesome #foodporn #food #recipe #bake . @instagram @sharpharmade

"There’s something about a short girl ... they may be physically smaller, but they sure seem to live larger. Short Girls are all the rage, and Short Girl Appreciation Day is our opportunity to raise them up above the crowds. Short Girl Appreciation Day is an interesting phenomena, with a date that wanders based on a floating set of criteria. It’s determined by the number of times it is mentioned on various social media sites, making Short Girl Appreciation Day the only holiday that can happen multiple times a year! All of this began as part of a meme where “Today is Short Girl Appreciation Day” was announced and shared throughout various forms of social media. Using unique analyzing software, the day with the most posts of this type was tracked, and announced as Short Girl Appreciation Day, with the caveat that should another day exceed this number then a new Short Girl Appreciation Day would be announced! . No matter who you are, you have to hand it to the Short Girls (if only because they can’t reach it themselves.) Let Short Girl Appreciation Day be your inspiration to truly let these compact little gems know how much you appreciate them. Take your favorite short girl out to lunch, buy them a step-stool, or just generally let them know how awesome they are ... if you know anyone that is suffering from standard short-girl problems. To really let them know how fantastic they are, you can also organize a party. Tiny cakes and cookies, even meals in small portions (but make sure there’s a lot of them, short girls can pack it away when they get a hunger on). Round it all up with a short girl fashion show. It’s bound to be interesting since so many of them have to shop in the children’s section!" ^sPm - #sharpharmade Fr 'Days of the Year' . #shortgirlappreciationday #shortgirls #girl #appreciation #fit #follow #like #wp #fb #tweet #twitter #buffer #lpt #linkinbio #tagsforlike #blog #pop #share #ig #insta #awesome #short #shortgirlsunite . @instagram @sharpharmade

Whatever game is your favorite, this is the day to play it and have some fun! After all, what better break could you take from the stresses of everyday life? Playing games is a great way to just kick back, relax and have some fun with your family, or friends. This day is the perfect occasion. Invite as many people as you like, and then conduct a poll on Facebook, etc., to find out what kind of games the people invited enjoy the most, and use the results of this poll as your guide to choosing the right game or games to keep your guests entertained. In fact, why not divide the night into several parts, each dedicated to a different type of game, so everyone taking part has the chance to challenge themselves on different levels and in different ways. You would not want anyone to go home feeling sad because their Mario kept on getting killed in the exact same spot over and over, right? Remember that every person is different, and may be good at something else—the same person who can’t maneuver an Xbox controller to save his or her life may well be astoundingly good at Scrabble, etc. In short, make sure there’s something for everyone at your party. If you should want to make things even more interesting, you could try organizing a vintage version of Games Day and have several of your guests bring over a 1985 Nintendo or an older version of Trivial Pursuit. And don’t forget about one of the most important things at every party: food. Nothing could be more dangerous to the atmosphere of your party than people getting hungry and frustrated. So don’t forget to stock up on snacks and soft drinks or beer, and maybe or a pizza or two." ^sPm - #sharpharmade Fr 'Days of the Year' . #games #gamesday #fun #play #familytime #family #fit #follow #like #celebrate #enjoy #wp #fb #twitter #tweet #buffer #tagsforlike #share #pop #blog #linkinbio #lpt #ig #insta #awesome #party #occasion . @instagram @sharpharmade

Follow me on Instagram at sharpharmade! . Sunday December 18, 2016 is Bake Cookies Day. "This day occurs in the middle of the holiday season, and is a great excuse to bake some delicious cookies to help you get through the cold, winter days! Why not try some cinnamon flavored cookies (such as the snickerdoodle) to get your kitchen smelling of winter festivities? Or there’s always the classic ‘sugar cookie’ with brightly colored royal icing, silver candy balls and sprinkles, cut into a myriad of seasonal shapes. This day is your excuse to indulge in the art (and eating) of cookies of every stripe and measure, especially those that remind you of the season. Cookies arrived in America in the 17th century, although the word arrived much later with the Dutch in its original form of “koekje”, meaning “little cake”. This was soon shortened to “cooky” or “cookie.” These “little cakes” are simply the most amazing thing to come out of an oven since bread. Every year people get together to celebrate this day by baking dozens of cookies for charity drives, orphanages, and generally bringing joy to family and friends everywhere. This day is the day to get everything together and fill your house with the joy of the holidays. Now, for those who don’t know how to bake cookies, allow me to introduce you to my favorite … Sugar cookies! . Sugar Cookie Recipe 1 ½ cups powdered sugar 1 cup butter or margarine, softened ½ t almond extract 1 egg 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour 1 t baking soda 1 t cream of tartar Mix together the powdered sugar, butter, vanilla, almond extract, and egg in a large bowl. Stir in the rest once this is blended. Cover and refrigerate for 2 hours. Preheat your oven to 375 degrees F, divide the dough in half, roll out to a ¼” thick sheet. Apply cookie cutters to get desired shape, and bake for 7-8 minutes until the edges are light brown. "Show your appreciation for the current airline system and the freedom to travel to all parts of the planet by celebrating Wright Brothers Day. The brothers Orville and Wilbur, tenacious American inventors, recorded the first manned, powered flight in 1903 at Kitty Hawk, North Carolina. They were not the first to build experimental aircraft, and news of fatal glider crashes involving other aviation trailblazers influenced the direction of their research and development. The Wright brothers focused their efforts on pilot-activated flight-stabilizing controls. Their discoveries form the basis of modern flight. In 1903 when aviation was in its infancy, sustained flight was measured in seconds and piloting was a developing skill, and although early flight lacked sophistication, it threw open the doors for the evolution of the aviation industry, and set the stage for the global travel system that we take for granted today." ^sPm - #sharpharmade Fr 'Days of the Year' . #wrightbrothers #wrightbrothersday #usa #northcarolina #goldsboro #airforce #airforcebase #fit #follow #like #remembering #air #flight #twitter #tweet #buffer #tagsforlike #share #pop #blog #linkinbio #lpt #ig #insta #wp #fb #recognition #airplane . @instagram @sharpharmade

Follow me on Instagram at sharpharmade! . Friday December 16, 2016 is Chocolate Covered Anything Day. "Chocolate, a candy loved by both children and adults alike. But how much can it go on? What edible creations can molten chocolate create? Where in the world are certain chocolate dishes made a favorite staple? Well, in order to find the answers to all those questions, we must do a time hop into the past, for this is the search of the history of Chocolate Covered Everything Day! . We all know and love the dark and sweet bricks called chocolate, we even melt it down and put on our ice cream! When was this delectable treat created? The history of chocolate begins in Mesoamerica. Fermented beverages made from chocolate date back to 1900 BC. The Aztecs believed that cacao seeds were the gift of Quetzalcoatl, the god of wisdom, and the seeds once had so much value that they were used as a form of currency. After chocolate’s arrival in Europe from oversea expeditions in the sixteenth century, sugar was added to it and it became popular throughout all of Europe, first among the ruling classes of the European societies, and then among the common people. To celebrate the day where we coat everything we can in chocolate, we go out and find an affordable mini chocolate fountain, and then we buy whatever we like to go with our chocolate, take it home and set it up, and then enjoy the chocolate covered foods in the comfort of our own home, enjoying it any time we want! We can also celebrate by buying chocolate syrup, heating it up in a bowl and have a bowl of ice cream with a hot chocolate syrup topping." ^sPm - #sharpharmade Fr 'Days of the Year' . #chocolatecoveredanythingday #chocolatecoveredanything #chocolatecovered #chocolate #fit #follow #like #celebrate #enjoy #wp #fb #twitter #tweet #buffer #tagsforlike #share #pop #blog #linkinbio #lpt #ig #insta #awesome #tasty #foodporn #sweet #scrumdiddyumptious #sweettreat #treat . @instagram @sharpharmade

Follow me on Instagram at sharpharmade! . Saturday December 10, 2016 is Gingerbread Decorating Day. "“Run, run as fast as you can! You can’t catch me. I’m the Gingerbread Man!” . December 13th means that Christmas is creeping closer and closer, and it’s getting to be time to prepare for this holiday associated with so many traditions. One of those traditions is the baking of gingerbread. This day is here to help all kids, from ages 1 to 92, get as much fun out of the season as possible. Gingerbread was sold in monasteries and pharmacies, where it was thought to have medicinal properties. In 1875, the gingerbread man was introduced to holiday traditions through a fairytale, where he was depicted as a holiday treat. The best way to celebrate this day is to make your very own gingerbread cookies and then proceed to decorate them. It can be most fun when each member of the family makes, bakes and decorates his or her own gingerbread man. Gingerbread can be decorated with many different things, from a simple icing made from just water and icing sugar, to more creative icings, like lemon or butter cream icing. Gingerbread men can also be made into cookie sandwiches, with delectable fillings made with vanilla or lemon cream, orange butter cream, or even ice cream! If you’re feeling particularly ambitious and confident, you could decide to make a gingerbread house. Gingerbread houses really allow for a lot of creativity, as they can be decorated with virtually anything that strikes your fancy, like gumdrops, candy canes, or peppermints, to name but a few. After you’ve made and decorated your gingerbread, members of the family can exchange cookies, and the cookies can then be eaten or hung up on the Christmas tree as decorations. Gingerbread tends to keep for long periods of time, so there is no need to worry that the cookies will start to rot or crumble." ^sPm - #sharpharmade Fr 'Days of the Year' . #gingerbread #gingerbreaddecorating #gingerbreaddecoratingday #fit #follow #like #celebrate #enjoy #wp #fb #twitter #tweet #buffer #tagsforlike #share #pop #blog #linkinbio #lpt #ig #insta #awesome #family #familytime #togetherness #tasty . @instagram @sharpharmade

Follow me on Instagram at sharpharmade! . Friday December 9, 2016 is Pastry Day. "If you love pastries, then your day is about to get all the more delicious! On December 9th, it’s time to observe Pastry Day – so if you ever needed an excuse to grab a croissant before work or keep the hunger pangs at bay in the afternoon with a cheeky slice of apple pie, today hands it to you on a plate! . The first ever pastries date way back into ancient times when the likes of the ancient Romans and Greeks made filo-style pastries as meals and treats. The main ingredients in hot countries were flour, oil, and honey, which would not melt easily in the heat of the day. We still have these kinds of treats these days with the Turkish favorite Baklava, a sweet pastry made from filo-type pastry, nuts, and lashings of honey. In medieval times, things got a bit more serious when pastry chefs came on the scene, using shortening and butter to make a thicker, more robust pastry that we see frequently in pies. Pastry became quite a serious business, with demand for pies and sweets always high among royalty and peasants alike. Pastry chefs are still a big thing – perhaps even more so than they were back in medieval times. Employed in some of the biggest, most fancy hotels in the world, pastry chefs are in charge of making cakes and sweets and of course, classic pastry deserts. So, pop into your local bakery and grab an apple turnover, a flaky pastry pie or perhaps a cinnamon whirl. The amount of pastries up for grabs are endless ... vanilla slices, strudel, Danish pastries, pies of all fillings, baklava, quiche, eclairs, or even a Cornish pasty. If you’re feeling adventurous, try making your own pie – or if you think you’re quite the cook, take a stab at the challenging filo or choux pastry! Whatever you do, be sure to enjoy these sweet or savory treats with your friends, family or workmates. Or eat all of them to yourself – we won’t tell!" ^sPm - #sharpharmade Fr 'Days of the Year' . #pastryday #pastry #pastrychef #pastries #sweet #sweettooth #sweettreat #fit #follow #like #celebrate #enjoy #wp #fb #twitter #tweet #buffer #tagsforlike #share #pop #blog . @instagram @sharpharmade

Follow me on Instagram at sharpharmade! . Thursday December 8, 2016 is Pretend To Be A Time Traveler Day. "Being able to travel through time to a different age or era is the dream of many scientists, sci-fi enthusiasts, and even historians. After all, we spend so much of our lives hearing about what happened in the past, that many of us would give anything to see the things that were happening then with our own eyes. But have you ever thought that one day there will be people who will look back & wish they could travel to our times ... what life would look like in 2016? If you’ve never thought about it that way, it’s time you did, as that attitude will allow you to see the world in a whole new light and enjoy Pretend To Be A Time Traveler Day to the fullest. Charles Dickens’ “A Christmas Carol” tells us about how the main character, Ebeneezer Scrooge, is is transported back and forth through time to witness various events, leading to his eventual change of heart towards mankind. And even more recently, the cult classic Back to the Future Trilogy depicts the adventures of American teen Marty McFly, as he travels both into the future and the past to right wrongs. As you can see, time travel has fascinated mankind for millennia. This day is an annual event. As the name itself suggests, the basic premise is to pretend to be a time traveler, either from the past or from the future, who has somehow ended up in the present day. For maximum effect, this role play should involve group of friends and should take place in public places involving strangers. Ask strangers what year it is and respond in horror, regard everything you see with curious fascination and a touch of skittishness for good measure, etc. Allow yourself to be astonished anew by all of the things you presently take for granted every day. Besides being great fun, this day will help you appreciate what you have in life." ^sPm - #sharpharmade Fr 'Days of the Year' . #pretendtobeatimetravelerday #timetravel #timetraveler #traveler #time #future #past #fit #follow #like #celebrate #enjoy #wp #fb #twitter #tweet #buffer #tagsforlike #share #pop #blog #linkinbio #lpt #ig #insta . @instagram @sharpharmade

Follow me on Instagram at sharpharmade! . Wednesday December 7, 2016 is Cotton Candy Day. "There exists in the world small clouds of utter delight, floating multicolored strands of spun-sugar all wrapped around a stick or served in a bag. When a treat has gained notoriety around the world and utterly defines what it means to attend a country fair, you know that it deserves a holiday of its very own. That’s where Cotton Candy Day comes in, celebrating this best of the bestest treats! . Unsurprising considering the number of names that the treat itself is known by, including candy cobwebs, hawai mithai, candy floss, and our personal favorite, fairy floss. So what are the origins of this treat? Well, it all depends on who you ask. Cotton Candy is often suggested to have come into existence as a form of spun sugar in 19th century Europe, and back then it would have been as precious as gold. While today’s technology allows us to produce cotton candy with a simple machine and a little time, the process would have been incredibly labor intensive and no doubt expensive, leaving Cotton Candy as the treat of the financial elite. Unsurprising considering that it was hand-spun at the time… Yes, you heard that right, by hand. In 1897 the world of spun-sugar came to the masses when John C. Wharton and a dentist friend of his William Morrison (we’ll let you take a moment to suck in that irony) created a machine to make Cotton Candy and presented it at the 1904 World’s Fair. Since then it has exploded throughout the world and can be found in almost every culture you can imagine, from America to the Distant East. Celebrate this day by getting your favorite flavor and sharing it with friends. Okay, we’re just kidding, don’t share it, just eat it up until you can’t eat another bite, and write your dentist an apology note. Or, given that a dentist invented it, perhaps it’s you who deserves the apology note, hmm?" ^sPm - #sharpharmade Fr 'Days of the Year' . #cottoncandy #cottoncandyday #pink #hope #breastcan #fluffy #fit #fun #follow #like #celebrate #enjoy #wp #fb #twitter #tweet #buffer #tagsforlike #share #pop #blog #linkinbio #lpt #ig #insta . @instagram @sharpharmade

December 7th - Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day ... "The History of Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day is the history of the attack itself, an attack which took place on December 7th, 1941. The attack was devastating, killing over 2,400 citizens of the United States from the time it began at 7:48 am Hawaiian time and ended just 90 minutes later, making the attack incredibly devastating. Multiple ships were lost during the attack, though things could have been much worse. Intelligence gathered after the attack indicated that there was intended to be a third-wave of attacks to hit the island, complete with an invasion fleet intended to take the island and prevent it from being used as an American base of operation. The purpose behind this surprise attack? America was well positioned in the Pacific to interfere with Japanese fleet maneuvering, and it was hoped that by launching this assault they would cripple the US Pacific Presence and be able to control the ocean unhindered. Celebrating Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day is your opportunity to show your support for those veterans who are still alive from the Pearl Harbor bombing, and pay your respect to those who give themselves in service to our country and its security every day. All over the US there are ceremonies to honor these men and women along with the rest of the surviving WWII veteran’s, of which there were 855,070 in 2016. Servicemen all over the world deserve the respect of their countrymen, and the war affected us all, so even if you aren’t American, pay your respects to those who serve." #pearlharbor #wwii #wwll #sharpharmade WE SALUTE YOU AND THANK YOU! . #navy #airforce #marine #army #military #remembering #respect #salute #america ##war #pearlharborremembranceday #fit #follow #like #share #blog #tagsforlike #tweet #twitter #buffer #lpt #linkinbio #ig #insta #pop #honor . @instagram @sharpharmade

Follow me on Instagram at sharpharmade! . Tuesday December 6, 2016 is Mitten Tree Day. "Mittens, we have all used them in our lives, some of us probably still do. They are our favorite things to use when making snowballs or making a snowman. They keep our hands warm from the cold and crunchy snow that we pick up and throw at each other, and are a good way to make sure our hands are colorful against the bright whiteness of the snowy ground. Learn about a day called Mitten Tree Day! Created by school teachers as a way to have a fun Christmastime activity for the children to make while they were in school. Others would claim that the holiday was created because of a book with the title “The Mitten Tree.” In the book the main character is bundling up to walk through the cold winter weather, and on her trek she sees a group of children placing their mittens on a small dead tree. No matter where the origin for the holiday came, children will always enjoy making little mitten trees. But where does mittens come from? Well, Mitten is derived from the Old French word mitaine which was an old pet name for a cat, because back then mittens were made of animal fur. The earliest mittens originally were used as sheaths for gloves since mittens did not have any separate finger openings to allow finger mobility. They were believed to have been made out of wool due to the discovery of a woolen mitten found in the harbor area of Dorestad in the Netherlands, determined to be from the 8th or 9th century AD based on surrounding archaeological evidence. In order to celebrate this holiday, the best thing to do is have a bunch of mittens ready, and set them on our Christmas tree, one per each branch until we either run out of branches to use for holding the mittens, or we run out of mittens to put on the branches of the tree. Then when we’re ready we can take our best set of mittens off the tree and head on out to enjoy the wintertime fun!" ^sPm - #sharpharmade Fr 'Days of the Year' . #mittentree #like #tweet #mitten #twitter #buffer #lpt #fit #follow #tagsforlike #share #wp #fb #blog #ig #insta #awesome #pop #linkinbio #enjoy #teacher #follow #giftidea . @instagram @sharpharmade

First Winter Snow December 4, 2016 - A Night Wonder!

Okayyyy! Okayyyy! I have to admit the snow makes a very pretty view; especially, at night! Makes nice pictures, and videos. And, as you can see, enough snow fell, to bring out the snow plows, on December 4, 2016. Walt's (the grocery store across the street from my house, for you non-local FB Peeps), even, brought out theirs! It was, actually, playing the musical sound of Winter! Lol!

Mother Nature ... PLEASE, Not The White Stuff!

Mother Nature, obviously, thought that she needed to convince me that Winter is here! 😣 First snow of the Winter, December 4, 2016. I know that I live in the Midwest; but the cold, itself, was enough persuasion, for me ... that Winter had arrived. 😞 Mother Nature, what a cruel surprise awakening!

Follow me on Instagram at sharpharmade! . Sunday December 4, 2016 is Cookie Day. "Cookies are sweet and full of all sorts of delicious goodness, from nuts to fruit to chocolate. They can be either delightfully crumbly or sinfully chewy. Not to mention that they keep forever if they are stored properly … there’s no doubt about: cookies more than deserve their own day. Let’s get celebrating, shall we? . A number of variations of this day are also celebrated around the world such as Oatmeal Cookie Day and Bake Cookie Day. On Cookie Day people can get together to bake cookies together. Parents can have fun baking the first batch of cookies their children will ever bake with them, which is also guaranteed to be an unforgettable experience. Here is a simple recipe: . Simple Peanut Butter Cookies (makes 20 cookies) Ingredients: . 1 cup creamy peanut butter . 3/4 cups granulated sugar . 1/4 cup brown sugar . 1 large egg . 1 teaspoon baking soda . 1 teaspoon vanilla extract . pinch of teaspoon kosher salt . Heat oven to 350° F. Beat peanut butter and sugars with a mixer on med-high speed until fluffy ... about 2-3 minutes. Reduce the speed to low & add eggs, baking soda, vanilla, & salt, beating constantly. To form cookies, roll tablespoonfuls of dough into balls & place on a lightly greased baking sheet, about 2 inches apart, as dough will spread out during baking. Using a lightly floured fork, press dough to a 1/2 in. thickness, making a cute crisscross pattern on top of each cookie. Bake, (rotate the baking sheet halfway through the baking process), until the edges are set & golden-brown, about 10 to 12 mins. Let cool on baking sheet before trying to remove them so they don’t crumble, then transfer the cookies wire racks to cool completely. Store the cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days … if they last that long!" ^sPm - #sharpharmade Fr 'Days of the Year' . #cookie #cookieday #childrentime #childhoodmemories #children #familytime #family #fit #follow #like #celebrate #enjoy #wp #fb #twitter #tweet #buffer #tagsforlike #share #pop #blog #linkinbio #lpt #ig #insta #awesome #tasty #foodporn #food . @instagram @sharpharmade

Follow me on Instagram at sharpharmade! . Saturday December 2, 2016 is Make A Gift Day. "A Gift that’s handmade Is a gift not replaced Entrapping sweet memories That can’t be erased – Amanda Evanson There’s just something amazing about unwrapping a gift, wondering what’s inside. Underneath the wrapping paper could be anything, any one of a million things from a million stores. But what’s really special is when you open up that paper and what’s found inside is a tangible representation of the love and adoration the person giving the gift felt for you. Nothing says that like a hand-made gift, and on Make a Gift Day, you get to be the one to share that love with the people you care about. There was time, not all that long ago, when a hand-made gift was the only sort of gift you could give. There were no major manufacturing facilities churning out the latest whatever. Even more common was that a gift would be hand-made by those presenting it, with time and care spent crafting it with you specifically in mind. Can you imagine how important that made every article you received? The fact that each of them were hand made with attention and love. This day encourages you to try your hand at producing a gift, no matter what it is. We all have skills we can turn to producing something made with personal care and attention. Whether you’re creating an elaborate card with the little emblems and symbols you know the recipient adores, or creating an entire outfit. This day encourages you to really express yourself and your view of the recipient through arts and crafts. The kinds of gifts you can make is limitless, and if you don’t possess the skill to create a gift you can certainly use this as your excuse to learn! Get a little creative, who knows what you can come up with! Your recipient will know how much you love them and how much you value your relationship, all wrapped up in one hand made bundle." ^sPm - #sharpharmade Fr 'Days of the Year' . #makeagiftday #gift #make #ig #insta #pop #lpt #follow #like #wp #fb #tweet #twitter #buffer #linkinbio #tagsforlike #awesome #beautiful #makeagift #present #craft #handmade #care #create #special . @instagram @sharpharmade

Follow me on Instagram at sharpharmade! . Thursday December 1, 2016 is World AIDS Day. "There is a disease that reached out into the world and changed the way we thought about everything, from how we got our blood transfusions to our sexual practices. It was met with a campaign of fear and superstition that harmed both those who had it, and the families and friends of those who surrounded them. While HIV and AIDS are out in the world today, the horror stories that were told of how it works and how it was transmitted have largely been mitigated. This day works to ensure that those who suffer from AIDS can live in a safer, more understanding world & help further research to eliminate it. World AIDS Day was first held in 1988, just four years after the discovery of the virus and its official classification. Since that time 35 million people have died, putting it far ahead of many of the other most devastating diseases in the history of man. Since that day the work of men and women everywhere has led to a greater understanding of HIV/AIDS (you can’t get it by sharing a can of coke, or sharing a toilet seat, for instance), but that has only served to slow the tide. There are still people out there who don’t know all the facts about it. So, educate yourself about AIDS on websites like Worldaidsday.org , and then start researching what you can do to help. Whether it’s a small donation, or volunteering your time. That’s as worthwhile as helping to end the epidemic that is HIV/AIDS. You can also wear a red ribbon on World AIDS Day to help spread awareness of the disease, and hand out red ribbons to your friends, co-workers, and family to help them spread the word as well. It’s important that everyone understand the dangers of HIV/AIDS, and just as important that they understand how it’s contracted. Not just as a way to avoid contracting it, but to reduce the fear that surrounds this horrible condition." ^sPm - #sharpharmade Fr 'Days of the Year' . #worldaidsday #world #aids #worldaids #fit #follow #like #concern #twitter #buffer #lpt #linkinbio #tagsforlike #wp #fb #blog #ig #insta #tweet #pop #educate #research #awareness #understanding . @instagram @sharpharmade
