"Radio commercials are often seen as an irritation to be endured while waiting for some music to come on, but they have been part of the entertainment business for nearly a century and provide employment for many people. Radio Commercials Day commemorates the day when the very first radio commercial was broadcast on New York station, WEAF. This took place on August 28th 1922 and was for an American estate agent, Queensboro Realty. It wasn’t until 1973 that the UK had its first radio commercial, which ran on LBC and promoted Birds Eye frozen food. Many early radio commercials can be found online, and a great way to celebrate Radio Commercials Day is to listen to a few and be transported back in time. Alternatively, track down some radio commercials from around the world and be entertained by the huge variety of tone and style that are used in radio adverts from different countries." ^sPm - #sharpharmade Fr 'Days of the Year'. #radio #commercial #rad #linkinbio #lpt #wp #fb #ig #insta #blog #tweet #twitter #share #buffer #pop #shar #entertainment #fun #listen #promote #promotion #entertain #bearyamazing #worldwide . @instagram @sharpharmade

Whether you’re procrastinating, plain bored or it’s actually one of your favorite sporting activities (if so, you should probably re-evaluate a few things… just saying), then this day is your day to go nuts. Race Your Mouse Around The Icons Day embraces this, and encourages you to go crazy with your cursor!" ^sPm - #sharpharmade Fr 'Days of the Year'. #icon #race #mouse #computer #computermouse #wp #fb #blog #ig #insta #follow #like #bearyamazing #fun #awesome #tweet #twitter #linkinbio #lpt #pop #shar #share . @instagram @sharpharmade

Back in the days of the wild west, there were no Fed Ex, USPS, etc., that ran that far west, no planes, & delivery by ship was likely to take months if it ever got there at all. Seeing this need for a specialized delivery service, Leavenworth and Pike’s Peak Express Co. took an opportunity to expand into this void. From this important decision was born one of the most iconic pieces of American History, whose influence is felt in hundreds of Pony Express Day Festivals throughout the American Midwest. The Pony Express existed for 18 months between the days of April 3, 1860 to October 1861. In these days there was no air mail, no great American Highway, but, hundreds of miles of wide open spaces with not much in between but animal filled wilderness & bandit filled hollows. The Pony Express was a massive employer for it’s time, with up to 80 young riders employed at any given stage, with stringent requirements on their age, size, and weight. They preferred to employ the youngest riders they could, in part for their resilience, & in part for how light they were. The lighter a man was the longer the horse could run. The rider changed out every 75 to 100 miles, but the mail never so much as slowed even in the worst of weather. It, usually, took 10 days; but, when they delivered Lincoln’s Inaugural Address, the trip was made in a mere 7 days & 17 hours. There are tons of opportunities to celebrate the bravery of these young mailmen. You can spend Postal Express Day dressed up as one of these adventurous souls who served as the heart of America’s fast tracked postal line, while watching equestrian events commemorating the challenges they faced. So get together with your friends & family on Pony Express Day, & celebrate the Pioneer spirit of the Old West!" ^sPm - #sharpharmade Fr 'Days of the Year'. #ponyexpress #mail #brave #bravery #courage #wildwest #follow #like #share #blog #pop #linkinbio #lpt #wp #fb #tweet #twitter #buffer #shar #ig #insta #bearyamazing #history . @instagram @sharpharmade

Follow me on Instagram at sharpharmade! . Sunday August 28, 2016 is Bow Tie Day. "A whirling noise in the distance, followed by a male in a bow tie and a female in a summer dress running out of a blue police box. A small wooden puppet with a large blue bow tie that is still there when the puppet comes to life. Or a sharply dressed man hunting around for information in order to save the world from annihilation. All three examples are notable by a bow tie that the character wears. Whether it be the Doctor from Dr. Who, Pinocchio, or James Bond, each wears a bow tie very well, and accentuates it for that very character. Pierre Lorillard wore one to the Tuxedo Club, and his black and white fashion sense blossomed into becoming the Tuxedo we know currently in fashion. Typically the bow tie is worn as an accessory to accentuate the neck, helping draw eyes up to the face and away from the shoulders and chest. How to celebrate Bow Tie Day: Snag a bow tie and wear it! It is that simple, although tying a bow tie isn’t! Many pieces of clothing can be paired with the flourished bow, and probably the most notable look is the button up shirt. Sure, it may look a little dated, but the classics never truly die…. bow ties have been worn by people looking to make better impressions since the 17th century. Many characters have been notably wearing bow ties, including the ever popular James Bond, in all of his different actors, the bow tie is always there, giving the actor an air of distinguished quality. There has been the infamous Dr. Nye, who wears a bow tie while explaining how, and why, science works. His quote, “If you’re working with liquid nitrogen and your tie falls into it, it’s funny in a way to the audience but it’s also — pun intended — a little bit of a pain in the neck.” really drives home the differences between a neck tie and a bow tie. So don’t underestimate the use of this small, but extremely elegant addition to your dressing up, and wear them with pride this Bow Tie Day!" ^sPm - #sharpharmade Fr 'Days of the Year'. #bowtie #tuxedo #wp #fb #ig #insta #tweet #twitter #shar #share #blog #buffer #pop #linkinbio #lpt #follow #like . @instagram @sharpharmade
