Follow me on Instagram at sharpharmade! . Friday December 9, 2016 is Pastry Day. "If you love pastries, then your day is about to get all the more delicious! On December 9th, it’s time to observe Pastry Day – so if you ever needed an excuse to grab a croissant before work or keep the hunger pangs at bay in the afternoon with a cheeky slice of apple pie, today hands it to you on a plate! . The first ever pastries date way back into ancient times when the likes of the ancient Romans and Greeks made filo-style pastries as meals and treats. The main ingredients in hot countries were flour, oil, and honey, which would not melt easily in the heat of the day. We still have these kinds of treats these days with the Turkish favorite Baklava, a sweet pastry made from filo-type pastry, nuts, and lashings of honey. In medieval times, things got a bit more serious when pastry chefs came on the scene, using shortening and butter to make a thicker, more robust pastry that we see frequently in pies. Pastry became quite a serious business, with demand for pies and sweets always high among royalty and peasants alike. Pastry chefs are still a big thing – perhaps even more so than they were back in medieval times. Employed in some of the biggest, most fancy hotels in the world, pastry chefs are in charge of making cakes and sweets and of course, classic pastry deserts. So, pop into your local bakery and grab an apple turnover, a flaky pastry pie or perhaps a cinnamon whirl. The amount of pastries up for grabs are endless ... vanilla slices, strudel, Danish pastries, pies of all fillings, baklava, quiche, eclairs, or even a Cornish pasty. If you’re feeling adventurous, try making your own pie – or if you think you’re quite the cook, take a stab at the challenging filo or choux pastry! Whatever you do, be sure to enjoy these sweet or savory treats with your friends, family or workmates. Or eat all of them to yourself – we won’t tell!" ^sPm - #sharpharmade Fr 'Days of the Year' . #pastryday #pastry #pastrychef #pastries #sweet #sweettooth #sweettreat #fit #follow #like #celebrate #enjoy #wp #fb #twitter #tweet #buffer #tagsforlike #share #pop #blog . @instagram @sharpharmade

Follow me on Instagram at sharpharmade! . Thursday December 8, 2016 is Pretend To Be A Time Traveler Day. "Being able to travel through time to a different age or era is the dream of many scientists, sci-fi enthusiasts, and even historians. After all, we spend so much of our lives hearing about what happened in the past, that many of us would give anything to see the things that were happening then with our own eyes. But have you ever thought that one day there will be people who will look back & wish they could travel to our times ... what life would look like in 2016? If you’ve never thought about it that way, it’s time you did, as that attitude will allow you to see the world in a whole new light and enjoy Pretend To Be A Time Traveler Day to the fullest. Charles Dickens’ “A Christmas Carol” tells us about how the main character, Ebeneezer Scrooge, is is transported back and forth through time to witness various events, leading to his eventual change of heart towards mankind. And even more recently, the cult classic Back to the Future Trilogy depicts the adventures of American teen Marty McFly, as he travels both into the future and the past to right wrongs. As you can see, time travel has fascinated mankind for millennia. This day is an annual event. As the name itself suggests, the basic premise is to pretend to be a time traveler, either from the past or from the future, who has somehow ended up in the present day. For maximum effect, this role play should involve group of friends and should take place in public places involving strangers. Ask strangers what year it is and respond in horror, regard everything you see with curious fascination and a touch of skittishness for good measure, etc. Allow yourself to be astonished anew by all of the things you presently take for granted every day. Besides being great fun, this day will help you appreciate what you have in life." ^sPm - #sharpharmade Fr 'Days of the Year' . #pretendtobeatimetravelerday #timetravel #timetraveler #traveler #time #future #past #fit #follow #like #celebrate #enjoy #wp #fb #twitter #tweet #buffer #tagsforlike #share #pop #blog #linkinbio #lpt #ig #insta . @instagram @sharpharmade

Follow me on Instagram at sharpharmade! . Wednesday December 7, 2016 is Cotton Candy Day. "There exists in the world small clouds of utter delight, floating multicolored strands of spun-sugar all wrapped around a stick or served in a bag. When a treat has gained notoriety around the world and utterly defines what it means to attend a country fair, you know that it deserves a holiday of its very own. That’s where Cotton Candy Day comes in, celebrating this best of the bestest treats! . Unsurprising considering the number of names that the treat itself is known by, including candy cobwebs, hawai mithai, candy floss, and our personal favorite, fairy floss. So what are the origins of this treat? Well, it all depends on who you ask. Cotton Candy is often suggested to have come into existence as a form of spun sugar in 19th century Europe, and back then it would have been as precious as gold. While today’s technology allows us to produce cotton candy with a simple machine and a little time, the process would have been incredibly labor intensive and no doubt expensive, leaving Cotton Candy as the treat of the financial elite. Unsurprising considering that it was hand-spun at the time… Yes, you heard that right, by hand. In 1897 the world of spun-sugar came to the masses when John C. Wharton and a dentist friend of his William Morrison (we’ll let you take a moment to suck in that irony) created a machine to make Cotton Candy and presented it at the 1904 World’s Fair. Since then it has exploded throughout the world and can be found in almost every culture you can imagine, from America to the Distant East. Celebrate this day by getting your favorite flavor and sharing it with friends. Okay, we’re just kidding, don’t share it, just eat it up until you can’t eat another bite, and write your dentist an apology note. Or, given that a dentist invented it, perhaps it’s you who deserves the apology note, hmm?" ^sPm - #sharpharmade Fr 'Days of the Year' . #cottoncandy #cottoncandyday #pink #hope #breastcan #fluffy #fit #fun #follow #like #celebrate #enjoy #wp #fb #twitter #tweet #buffer #tagsforlike #share #pop #blog #linkinbio #lpt #ig #insta . @instagram @sharpharmade

December 7th - Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day ... "The History of Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day is the history of the attack itself, an attack which took place on December 7th, 1941. The attack was devastating, killing over 2,400 citizens of the United States from the time it began at 7:48 am Hawaiian time and ended just 90 minutes later, making the attack incredibly devastating. Multiple ships were lost during the attack, though things could have been much worse. Intelligence gathered after the attack indicated that there was intended to be a third-wave of attacks to hit the island, complete with an invasion fleet intended to take the island and prevent it from being used as an American base of operation. The purpose behind this surprise attack? America was well positioned in the Pacific to interfere with Japanese fleet maneuvering, and it was hoped that by launching this assault they would cripple the US Pacific Presence and be able to control the ocean unhindered. Celebrating Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day is your opportunity to show your support for those veterans who are still alive from the Pearl Harbor bombing, and pay your respect to those who give themselves in service to our country and its security every day. All over the US there are ceremonies to honor these men and women along with the rest of the surviving WWII veteran’s, of which there were 855,070 in 2016. Servicemen all over the world deserve the respect of their countrymen, and the war affected us all, so even if you aren’t American, pay your respects to those who serve." #pearlharbor #wwii #wwll #sharpharmade WE SALUTE YOU AND THANK YOU! . #navy #airforce #marine #army #military #remembering #respect #salute #america ##war #pearlharborremembranceday #fit #follow #like #share #blog #tagsforlike #tweet #twitter #buffer #lpt #linkinbio #ig #insta #pop #honor . @instagram @sharpharmade

Follow me on Instagram at sharpharmade! . Tuesday December 6, 2016 is Mitten Tree Day. "Mittens, we have all used them in our lives, some of us probably still do. They are our favorite things to use when making snowballs or making a snowman. They keep our hands warm from the cold and crunchy snow that we pick up and throw at each other, and are a good way to make sure our hands are colorful against the bright whiteness of the snowy ground. Learn about a day called Mitten Tree Day! Created by school teachers as a way to have a fun Christmastime activity for the children to make while they were in school. Others would claim that the holiday was created because of a book with the title “The Mitten Tree.” In the book the main character is bundling up to walk through the cold winter weather, and on her trek she sees a group of children placing their mittens on a small dead tree. No matter where the origin for the holiday came, children will always enjoy making little mitten trees. But where does mittens come from? Well, Mitten is derived from the Old French word mitaine which was an old pet name for a cat, because back then mittens were made of animal fur. The earliest mittens originally were used as sheaths for gloves since mittens did not have any separate finger openings to allow finger mobility. They were believed to have been made out of wool due to the discovery of a woolen mitten found in the harbor area of Dorestad in the Netherlands, determined to be from the 8th or 9th century AD based on surrounding archaeological evidence. In order to celebrate this holiday, the best thing to do is have a bunch of mittens ready, and set them on our Christmas tree, one per each branch until we either run out of branches to use for holding the mittens, or we run out of mittens to put on the branches of the tree. Then when we’re ready we can take our best set of mittens off the tree and head on out to enjoy the wintertime fun!" ^sPm - #sharpharmade Fr 'Days of the Year' . #mittentree #like #tweet #mitten #twitter #buffer #lpt #fit #follow #tagsforlike #share #wp #fb #blog #ig #insta #awesome #pop #linkinbio #enjoy #teacher #follow #giftidea . @instagram @sharpharmade

First Winter Snow December 4, 2016 - A Night Wonder!

Okayyyy! Okayyyy! I have to admit the snow makes a very pretty view; especially, at night! Makes nice pictures, and videos. And, as you can see, enough snow fell, to bring out the snow plows, on December 4, 2016. Walt's (the grocery store across the street from my house, for you non-local FB Peeps), even, brought out theirs! It was, actually, playing the musical sound of Winter! Lol!

Mother Nature ... PLEASE, Not The White Stuff!

Mother Nature, obviously, thought that she needed to convince me that Winter is here! πŸ˜£ First snow of the Winter, December 4, 2016. I know that I live in the Midwest; but the cold, itself, was enough persuasion, for me ... that Winter had arrived. πŸ˜ž Mother Nature, what a cruel surprise awakening!

They can be either delightfully crumbly or sinfully chewy. Not to mention that they keep forever if they are stored properly … there’s no doubt about: cookies more than deserve their own day. Let’s get celebrating, shall we? . A number of variations of this day are also celebrated around the world such as Oatmeal Cookie Day and Bake Cookie Day. On Cookie Day people can get together to bake cookies together. Parents can have fun baking the first batch of cookies their children will ever bake with them, which is also guaranteed to be an unforgettable experience. Here is a simple recipe: . Simple Peanut Butter Cookies (makes 20 cookies) Ingredients: . 1 cup creamy peanut butter . 3/4 cups granulated sugar . 1/4 cup brown sugar . 1 large egg . 1 teaspoon baking soda . 1 teaspoon vanilla extract . pinch of teaspoon kosher salt . Heat oven to 350° F. Beat peanut butter and sugars with a mixer on med-high speed until fluffy ... about 2-3 minutes. Reduce the speed to low & add eggs, baking soda, vanilla, & salt, beating constantly. To form cookies, roll tablespoonfuls of dough into balls & place on a lightly greased baking sheet, about 2 inches apart, as dough will spread out during baking. Using a lightly floured fork, press dough to a 1/2 in. thickness, making a cute crisscross pattern on top of each cookie. Bake, (rotate the baking sheet halfway through the baking process), until the edges are set & golden-brown, about 10 to 12 mins. Let cool on baking sheet before trying to remove them so they don’t crumble, then transfer the cookies wire racks to cool completely. Store the cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days … if they last that long!" ^sPm - #sharpharmade Fr 'Days of the Year' . #cookie #cookieday #childrentime #childhoodmemories #children #familytime #family #fit #follow #like #celebrate #enjoy #wp #fb #twitter #tweet #buffer #tagsforlike #share #pop #blog #linkinbio #lpt #ig #insta #awesome #tasty #foodporn #food . @instagram @sharpharmade

"A Gift that’s handmade Is a gift not replaced Entrapping sweet memories That can’t be erased – Amanda Evanson There’s just something amazing about unwrapping a gift, wondering what’s inside. Underneath the wrapping paper could be anything, any one of a million things from a million stores. But what’s really special is when you open up that paper and what’s found inside is a tangible representation of the love and adoration the person giving the gift felt for you. Nothing says that like a hand-made gift, and on Make a Gift Day, you get to be the one to share that love with the people you care about. There was time, not all that long ago, when a hand-made gift was the only sort of gift you could give. There were no major manufacturing facilities churning out the latest whatever. Even more common was that a gift would be hand-made by those presenting it, with time and care spent crafting it with you specifically in mind. Can you imagine how important that made every article you received? The fact that each of them were hand made with attention and love. This day encourages you to try your hand at producing a gift, no matter what it is. We all have skills we can turn to producing something made with personal care and attention. Whether you’re creating an elaborate card with the little emblems and symbols you know the recipient adores, or creating an entire outfit. This day encourages you to really express yourself and your view of the recipient through arts and crafts. The kinds of gifts you can make is limitless, and if you don’t possess the skill to create a gift you can certainly use this as your excuse to learn! Get a little creative, who knows what you can come up with! Your recipient will know how much you love them and how much you value your relationship, all wrapped up in one hand made bundle." ^sPm - #sharpharmade Fr 'Days of the Year' . #makeagiftday #gift #make #ig #insta #pop #lpt #follow #like #wp #fb #tweet #twitter #buffer #linkinbio #tagsforlike #awesome #beautiful #makeagift #present #craft #handmade #care #create #special . @instagram @sharpharmade

Follow me on Instagram at sharpharmade! . Thursday December 1, 2016 is World AIDS Day. "There is a disease that reached out into the world and changed the way we thought about everything, from how we got our blood transfusions to our sexual practices. It was met with a campaign of fear and superstition that harmed both those who had it, and the families and friends of those who surrounded them. While HIV and AIDS are out in the world today, the horror stories that were told of how it works and how it was transmitted have largely been mitigated. This day works to ensure that those who suffer from AIDS can live in a safer, more understanding world & help further research to eliminate it. World AIDS Day was first held in 1988, just four years after the discovery of the virus and its official classification. Since that time 35 million people have died, putting it far ahead of many of the other most devastating diseases in the history of man. Since that day the work of men and women everywhere has led to a greater understanding of HIV/AIDS (you can’t get it by sharing a can of coke, or sharing a toilet seat, for instance), but that has only served to slow the tide. There are still people out there who don’t know all the facts about it. So, educate yourself about AIDS on websites like Worldaidsday.org , and then start researching what you can do to help. Whether it’s a small donation, or volunteering your time. That’s as worthwhile as helping to end the epidemic that is HIV/AIDS. You can also wear a red ribbon on World AIDS Day to help spread awareness of the disease, and hand out red ribbons to your friends, co-workers, and family to help them spread the word as well. It’s important that everyone understand the dangers of HIV/AIDS, and just as important that they understand how it’s contracted. Not just as a way to avoid contracting it, but to reduce the fear that surrounds this horrible condition." ^sPm - #sharpharmade Fr 'Days of the Year' . #worldaidsday #world #aids #worldaids #fit #follow #like #concern #twitter #buffer #lpt #linkinbio #tagsforlike #wp #fb #blog #ig #insta #tweet #pop #educate #research #awareness #understanding . @instagram @sharpharmade

Follow me on Instagram at sharpharmade! . Wednesday November 30, 2016 is Stay Home Because You're Well Day. "Isn’t it a shame to waste your day off feeling sick? When you finally get some time away from the monotony of the office, isn’t it better to actually enjoy it? Of course it is! And that’s the thinking behind ‘Stay Home Because You’re Well Day’. Thomas and Ruth Roy created Stay Home Because You’re Well Day under the name of Wellcat Holidays and Herbs. They have stated that it exists so that, “we can all call in “well,” instead of faking illness, and stay home from work.” The point of this holiday is to take a moment to just slow down and enjoy life, seeing as how it has become so very hectic over the recent years, what with the endless barrage of phone calls, text messages, emails, voicemails, etc. that we are face with on an everyday basis. One of the more important things to remember when deciding to celebrate Stay Home Because You’re Well Day is to be careful and use good judgement; especially, when announcing this to your boss. Some bosses are understanding enough to not take issue with you honesty and your need to just get away from it all every now and then to recharge your batteries, but some could become very agitated. And you wouldn’t want to get in trouble with your boss or lose your job now, would you? So before you decide to participate, think about whether this day is right for you, your line of work, and your boss’ temperament and tolerance for new ideas. If you do decide to celebrate Stay Home Because You’re Well Day, think ahead about what you will do on that day." ^sPm - #sharpharmade Fr 'Days of the Year' . #stayhomebecauseyourewellday #well #stayhome #notsick #healthy #timeout #nowork #freedom #fit #follow #like #celebrate #enjoy #wp #fb #twitter #tweet #buffer #tagsforlike #share #pop #blog #linkinbio #lpt #ig #insta #awesome #fun . @instagram @sharpharmade

"Giving Tuesday takes place on the Tuesday directly after American Thanksgiving, which in turn takes place on the 4th Thursday of November. This day was created to help the “giving season” get started, reminding people that there is more to holidays than consumerism and commercialization. The intention was to set aside a day that was all about celebrating the generosity of giving, a great American tradition. The first announcement about Giving Tuesday was made through Mashable, a technology website. The first Giving Tuesday was covered extensively by the Washington Post, the Huffington Post, ABC News, Deseret News, and the White House official blog. This day is organized and celebrated each year with the simple aim of encouraging individuals, families, schools, businesses, and other organizations to give to the less fortunate. This day has been praised by many, including the Chronicle of Philanthropy, a newspaper that covers the nonprofit world, as an antidote to consumer culture and a way for people to give back. There is no shortage of ways in which this can be done. Ideas have included organizing fundraisers, with the intention of giving the proceeds to a charity. There are many ways to give. Many things that can be given besides just money. The hashtag #GivingTuesday was also created to raise awareness about the needy and encourage people to give to charities. The truth is that there are thousands of charity organization the world over, many of which are likely located somewhere near you. Every single one of them could use your help, so find a cause that is especially important to you personally, whether it’s fighting a certain type of cancer, helping to buy schoolbooks for children from very poor families, or helping the animals at your local animal shelter, and take action!" ^sPm - #sharpharmade Fr 'Days of the Year' . #giving #givingtuesday #givingtuesday #tuesday #fit #follow #like #care #twitter #buffer #tweet #linkinbio #lpt #ig #insta #awesome #pop #beautiful #nice #share #blog #tagsforlike #kindness #sharing #givingseason . @instagram @sharpharmade

Follow me on Instagram at sharpharmade! . Sunday November 27, 2016 is Pins And Needles Day. "Pins and Needles Day might not have its origins in what you think! Though when we say ‘pins and needles’ today, you’ll think of that tingly feeling you get when your leg goes to sleep. The original Pins and Needles Day started up in 1937 to commemorate the opening of the pro-Labor musical play of the same name on Broadway. The production would eventually have a massive 1108 performance run, but its namesake day has grown to mean something else entirely. The cast of the original production was made up of sewing machine workers, cutters and basters who simply wanted to do something a little creative in their free time – the play would end up to be so successful that the cast members, who up until then were only able to rehearse at weekends – were able to quit their day jobs and take part in a full 8-weekly show performance schedule. Pins and Needles was written by Harold Rome, a true Renaissance man who played piano in local dance bands while writing music, studying architecture, and pursuing a law degree at the prestigious Yale University. He brought all of those skills together when he produced Pins and Needles, and created a legend that would live on through the ages while pursuing a form of social justice little heard of its time. Perhaps Pins and Needles day would be a good opportunity to listen to the musical’s soundtrack, or even read up on the history of the International Ladies Garment Worker’s Union – once one of the largest Labor unions in the USA. You may even want to find out if anyone in your history was part of that union during the time the play was performed. Keeping aware of where Labor Justice rights are being fought for in the world is another good way to honor Pins And Needles Day." ^sPm - #sharpharmade Fr 'Days of the Year' . #pins #needles #pinsandneedles #pinsandneedlesday #pin #needle #fit #follow #like #celebrate #enjoy #wp #fb #twitter #tweet #buffer #tagsforlike #share #pop #blog #linkinbio #lpt #ig #insta #awesome #laborjustice #labor #justice #rights . @instagram @sharpharmade

Follow me on Instagram at sharpharmade! . Monday November 21, 2016 is World Hello Day. "World Hello Day may sound extremely basic, as it encourages us to take the opportunity to simply greet people, and to recognize how important simple communication is in our daily lives. The story of how it came to be, however, is a long and interesting one. World Hello Day was first created in 1973 in order to show people, especially the people of the Middle East that conflicts can and should be resolved through communication, and not violence. The idea is that clear, honest communication breeds peace. In the 1970s, the conflict between Egypt and Israel was quite severe, and many people began to fear yet another huge war would end up coming of it. World Hello Day was in fact created as a direct response to the Yom Kippur War that had just finished in October of 1973, during which thousands of both soldiers and innocent civilians were killed. Some soldiers had also been tortured and flat out executed. The peace discussion at the end of the war was the first time that Arab and Israeli officials met for direct public discussion in 25 years. Over the last 42 years since its creation, World Hello Day has been celebrated in 180 countries, as citizens of each of these countries take advantage of this time to express their concerns for world peace. Participating in World Hello Day is quite simple: all you have to do is say hello to at least 10 people during that one day. This is supposed to send a message of openness and goodwill to others. It will always be worth the struggle to make the first move and extend your hand to them in a gesture of peace." ^sPm - #sharpharmade Fr 'Days of the Year' . #fit #follow #like #celebrate #worldhelloday #twitter #tweet #buffer #tagsforlike #share #pop #blog #linkinbio #lpt #ig #insta #awesome #world #hello #peace #goodwill . @instagram @sharpharmade

When you’re having a bad day, you shouldn’t have to suffer alone, so wish everyone you meet “Have a Bad Day”, but do it with the brightest, cheeriest smile you can put on your face. Retail customers, be afraid friends, be afraid. But this day gives our heroes in the customer service industry a chance to strike back … Every agent has to end their spiel, no matter how rotten the customer was, with the phrase “Have a Nice Day!”, but on this day, they get a reprieve from this monotonous platitude and get to instead assail their customers with that most delightful of passive-aggressive phrases. “Have a Bad Day!” announced in the cheeriest tone they can manage, and then they revel in the confusion as their customers try to make out whether or not they’ve just been insulted. They’ll never know. This day is your opportunity to get out there and truly wish the worst of the worst on people with a cheery “Have a Bad Day!”. Even if you’re not a customer service agent, you’re sure to know someone who deserves to be confused by being told to have a bad day in a voice that says have a good one. Vengeance is mine, sayeth the teller." ^sPm - #sharpharmade Fr 'Days of the Year' . #linkinbio #lpt #ig #insta #awesome #pop #beautiful #follow #like #celebrate #enjoy #wp #fb #twitter #tweet #buffer #tagsforlike #share #blog #bad #badday #haveabadday #haveabaddayday #nice . @instagram @sharpharmade

Follow me on Instagram at sharpharmade! . Friday November 18, 2016 is Mickey Mouse Day. "If there’s one image that everyone in the world can recognize, it’s the iconic ears of our favorite mouse, Disney’s Mickey Mouse. His face graces everything from ceramic mugs to balloons, touching on every industry and areas of our lives. It can be found in the shape of ice cream on a hot summer afternoon, or on the back of a hoodie on a frigid autumn morning. It all started with a short film called “Steamboat Willie”, and ever since, he’s been the very icon of family fun, hope over adversity, and following your dreams. Mickey Mouse was originally dreamed up by Ub Iwerks & Walt Disney in 1928, and from that first short film has risen to be a worldwide recognized Icon. He was the first animated character to ever receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Since then we saw the rise and fall of “The Mickey Mouse club”, and a growing family of characters that have all become part of the Disney IP. Mickey first came to pass as a replacement for Walt’s first popular creation, Oswald the Lucky Rabbit. After the relationship with Universal Studios soured, Mickey Mouse was created and came to be the avatar of the happiest place on earth. The ways to celebrate Mickey Mouse day are only as limited as your imagination. Start off small by wearing or buying a Mickey Mouse themed piece of clothing, maybe a hoodie bearing his image or a hat with Mickey Mouse ears. Follow it up by singing that most popular song “M I C. K E Y. M O U S E! Mickey Mouse! (Donald Duck!)” from the Mousketeers show. Mickey Mouse has been around for many a year, and some of the oldies are the goodies. Best of all, plan a trip to one of Mickey Mouse’s kingdoms, located all over the world. Nothing celebrates the day of this Disney great like taking the whole family to the Magic Kingdom and spending the day enjoying everything Disney has to offer." ^sPm - #sharpharmade Fr 'Days of the Year' . #fit #follow #like #celebrate #enjoy #wp #fb #twitter #tweet #buffer #tagsforlike #share #pop #blog #linkinbio #lpt #ig #insta #awesome #mickeymouse #mickeymouseday #world #fun #icon #disney . @instagram @sharpharmade

Follow me on Instagram at sharpharmade! . Thursday November 17, 2016 is Unfriend Day. "Ever scrolled through your Facebook and realized you don’t recognize half the names popping up in your News Feed? Friend list at 1000 people and counting? Is your wall cluttered with posts you don’t care about from people you don’t remember? Are you sick and tired of all of the TV show spoilers, conceited selfies, constant game invitations and endless photo sessions of someone’s dog/baby/vacation that you are being bombarded with 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 day a year? If you’ve answered yes to at east one of these questions, then this day is probably the perfect the holiday for you! . Oxford Dictionary’s 2009 word of the year was, in fact, “unfriend”, which it defines as, “verb – To remove someone as a ‘friend’ on a social networking site such as Facebook.” . Getting rid of distant acquaintances on Unfriend Day can help streamline your internet experience, allowing you to use your profiles to keep in touch with people you really care about, and preserving the true definition of ‘friend.’ . So what are you waiting for? Celebrate Unfriend Day by taking advantage of this judgement-free opportunity to ditch the total strangers and on your ‘friend’ list! On a slightly more serious note, Unfriend Day can in fact be a good time to think about the amount of superficial relationships people engage in the era of social media, ‘likes’, ‘retweets’, etc. Are you possibly neglecting the people in your life who really love you and care about your well-being sitting in front of you laptop for hours on end? Are you taking all sorts of pictures of activities you should just be enjoying with your actual friends, family or significant other just so you can quickly upload them to Facebook and garner ‘likes’ from people you don’t really like too much anyway? Take the time this Unfriend Day to make sure this is not happening in your life." ^sPm - #sharpharmade Fr 'Days of the Year' . #unfriend #unfriendday #unfriended #fit #follow #like #celebrate #enjoy #wp #fb #twitter #tweet #buffer #tagsforlike #share #pop #blog #linkinbio #lpt #ig #insta #awesome #pic . @instagram @sharpharmade

Follow me on Instagram at sharpharmade! . Tuesday November 15, 2016 is Fast Food Day. "Fried Chicken, Pizza, Hot Dogs, Chips, Onion Rings, Hamburgers, oh my! Fast Food is both boon and bane to the busy people of the world, and we all have our favorites. Traditionally rich and greasy, fast food tastes like pure bliss on your tongue, and can easily become addictive. Whether you love rich cheese and bacon covered potato wedges, or a quick and healthier chicken taco, this day is your excuse to indulge in all your favorite treats. Thanks to the rising popularity of cars after World War I, fast food started finding a niche that it could fill for the road-bound traveler. Whether it was a quick trip into town for a rare treat, or a stop on a cross-country adventure, a fast, hot food choice was needed to fill the niche. White Castle first stepped onto the scene in 1921, when hamburgers were offered for .05 apiece, and by 1950 fast food had become an American Institution. From there the love of fast food started spreading throughout the world, and can now be found in everywhere from downtown Japan to India. While the “hamburger joint” was the first type of fast food, fast food restaurants can be found in just about every ethnic cuisine the world has to offer. From Mexican to Thai, there’s sure to be a restaurant you can swing through to enjoy your favorite flavors of rich greasy goodness. Celebrate this day by dedicating every meal to a different variety of fast food. Stop in a McDonald’s for a breakfast burrito, fried tater discs, and an orange juice, and then stop in at Burger King for a Whopper with Onion Rings and a Strawberry Shake! Then to round it all off find the nearest KFC and round it all up with a big ol’ basket of chicken, because that’s how Fast Food Day rolls! . Don’t let Fast Food Day go by without drowning yourself in the indulgence that is the rich and delicious foods from your favorite take-out place!" ^sPm - #sharpharmade Fr 'Days of the Year' . #fit #follow #like #celebrate #enjoy #wp #fb #twitter #buffer #lpt #linkinbio #tagsforlike #fastfood #foodporn #fastfoodday #food #share #blog #pop #ig #insta #humpday #fast . @instagram @sharpharmade

Follow me on Instagram at sharpharmade! . Monday November 14, 2016 is World Diabetes Day. "World Diabetes Day was first introduced in 1991, and founded by both the International Diabetes Federation and the World Health Organization. In reaction to the rise in cases of Diabetes worldwide, it was decided to choose a day of the year to raise awareness of Diabetes and related causes. The day chosen was the birthday of Sir Frederick Banting, a medical scientist who co-discovered Insulin and was the first person to use it on humans. The theme of World Diabetes Day regularly changes. For example, the theme for the day between 2009 and 2013 was education and prevention, and in the past such themes have been used such as human rights, lifestyle, obesity, the disadvantaged and vulnerable, and children/teenagers. Various events around the world mark the day including raising awareness in the media, lectures and conferences, sporting events, and leaflet/poster campaigning. “Going blue” is another global event to mark the day, where people wear blue and landmark buildings and monuments around the world are lit up in blue, to help spread awareness of the day." ^sPm - #sharpharmade Fr 'Days of the Year' . #fit #follow #like #recognize #world #worlddiabetesday #diabetes #healthylife #health #lifestyle #tweet #twitter #buffer #lpt #linkinbio #tagsforlike #wp #fb #blog #ig #insta #share #awareness #stressawareness #sugar #insulin #test #care . @instagram @sharpharmade

Follow me on Instagram at sharpharmade! . Saturday November 12, 2016 is Pizza With The Works Except Anchovies Day. "You can do irrefutably impossible things with the right amount of planning and support from intelligent and hardworking people and pizza. – Scott M. Gimple There it is, sitting on your counter, fresh from the pizza parlor. You’re utterly in love with the idea of cracking open that cardboard container. Is there anything in the world that’s as wonderful as fresh gooey pizza in your hand, loaded with all of your favorite top… wait… What is that sitting on top of your delicious pizza pie? It’s salty and fishy and… WHO PUTS ANCHOVIES ON A PIZZA? This day came into existence from pure common sense. There’s a lot of people out there who will, foolishly and naively, choose to order their pizza with ‘the works’, never thinking for a moment that there’s a madman out there perfectly willing and capable of putting anchovies on a poor innocent pizza. The horror. Let’s ask one question first, though, where the heck did this crazy idea of putting anchovies on a pizza come from, to begin with? It certainly doesn’t seem like anything a sane person would do to their pizza? Near as we can tell it came from the Ancient Romans who first offered up a fermented fish topping known as Garum for their flatbreads. Storing them is cheap, even though only about 50 out of every 18,000 customers actually order them on their pizzas. Celebrate, this day, by ordering a pizza with the works without anchovies. It’s a delicious pizza pie deserving of only the most delicious toppings the world has to offer. Like pepperoni, green bell peppers, olives, mushrooms, Canadian bacon and pineapple, bacon, or anything else that has never been near the sea. This day celebrates that most fantastic of pizzas, with a small reminder to tell your pizza guy to not make an abomination of it by adding fish … to your pizza… Seriously... What’s next? Chicken?" ^sPm - #sharpharmade Fr 'Days of the Year' . #fit #follow #like #celebrate #enjoy #wp #fb #twitter #tweet #buffer #tagsforlike #share #pop #blog #linkinbio #lpt #ig #insta #awesome #pizzawiththeworks #pizza . @instagram @sharpharmade

Follow me on Instagram at sharpharmade! . Friday November 11, 2016 is Origami Day. "When you fold a piece of paper, you’re essentially changing the memory of that piece. – Eric Demaine in Between the Folds There’s a birthday coming, and it’s an important one for all you paper folding fanatics. It’s the birthday of Lillian Oppenheimer, the founder of the first origami group in America. If you love the art of folding paper and creating beautiful creations from paper, cloth, dollar bills, napkins, or anything that’ll hold a crease, This day is for you! The art of folding paper arose in several places throughout the world, including Europe, China, and Japan. It has accompanied traditions and celebrations of every kind, including funerals, birthdays, and more. In Europe, it was napkin folding that was all the rage, a tradition which was abundant during the 17th and 18th centuries as a sign of being a good host or hostess. Sadly, this particular tradition was going to fade out and become nearly forgotten until recently, when it’s beginning to see something of a resurgence. When Japan opened its borders in the late 1800’s, they started incorporating German paper folding techniques and two worlds came together in a glorious union. These days Origami has been used as a beacon of hope, with the tradition of folding a thousand cranes being done for people who are in the hospital fighting cancer, for instance. So, pick up a piece of paper and start folding it into something amazing. Okay, so it really isn’t THAT simple, but there’s plenty of opportunities for you to use online resources and books from your library to start making amazing creations out of paper. Create beautiful works of art from folding paper or cloth that will impress everyone." ^sPm - #sharpharmade Fr 'Days of the Year' . #origami #origamiart #origamiday #tweet #twitter #buffer #lpt #linkinbio #tagsforlike #wp #fb #blog #ig #insta #awesome #pop #creative #fold #paper #cloth #napkins #follow #like #share #beautiful #art #talent #celebrate . @instagram @sharpharmade
